AeroTek wins NADCAP Approval for Non-Destructive Testing

AeroTek is proud to announce that the company has been approved for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) by NADCAP. The approval includes the following aerospace processes:

  • AC7114/1 Rev O – Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI), and

  • AC7114/2 Rev N – Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI).

After many years of effort, AeroTek is now ready and scheduled for audits by Bombardier, Collins, and Bell Helicopter, with other aerospace OEMs to follow.

“I am extremely proud of the AeroTek team who have worked with our aerospace NDT suppliers to get AeroTek’s Whitby facility approved for aerospace NDT for our customers. The pandemic threw a wrench into our timeframes, but we never gave up and want to thank PRI for getting an auditor to us as soon as they could,” said Jonathan Schofield, President & CEO.

“Having the capacity in NDT to support our large Zinc-Nickel, Cadmium and Anodizing metal processing lines will help our aerospace OEM customers cut significant lead-times. AeroTek is now a One-Stop aerospace metal processing and coatings shop,” declared Mr. Schofield proudly.

Once the OEM approvals are received, AeroTek will be able to provide Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) on aerospace and other parts, potentially up to 20 feet in length. Our 16-ft bench for NDT is one of the largest in Ontario.

“Now, we can say, we are truly a ONE-STOP Shop for aerospace metal processing and coatings,” said Executive VP & Co-Founder, Vera Lo. “We are very excited with the prospect of significantly increasing our production and providing the best metal processing and coatings services to the aerospace and nuclear customers, as well as other industries.”

AeroTek wants to thank Kodiak Q.C. Ltd., QNDE Ltd. and Kenfield Metal Products for their design and technical expertise, their supply of equipment, and general guidance in this lengthy process.
